Calgary, Alberta Built as the centerpiece of a public event celebrating the final episode of the HBO series Game of Thrones. The Iron Throne was built with left over foam from the 2020 record-breaking Rubik’s cube, and a couple cans of black and silver spray paint. Most Red Mage projects start as a digital 3D model, but this one was completely freehand from start to finish.

Calgary, Alberta We were asked to create an interactive centerpiece and photo opportunity for holiday events. We enjoy making nostalgic artifacts bigger so people can enjoy them again for the first time and in a different way. In this case, see a holiday snowglobe from the inside and get showered with artificial snow! Adjustable LED lighting sets the mood and ensures vivid photographic memories.

Calgary, Alberta Red Mage machined and textured thousands of aluminum rods for this hanging sculpture at Studio Bell at Calgary’s National Music Centre.

Toronto, Ontario Former colleagues needed last-minute frame modeling and fabrication drawings for a jail cell and shuttle craft for filming the Star Trek: Discovery TV series in Toronto. The shuttle craft interior can first be seen in episode 4, while the jail cell is shown in episode 5.

Calgary, Alberta Red Mage developed an electromechanical magnetostrictive transducer using Terfenol-D active material. For use in acoustic geosurveying to locate underground pipelines, this transducer provides twice the output at half the cost of competing products.

Greenville, Texas A local saddlery company was discarding a large amount of leather scraps. With no particular project in mind, Red Mage asked to salvage the material for upcycled crafts. One result was a series of 4 ft tall, hand-stitched leather vases in a geometric pattern and various color arrangements.
